With over 12 years of experience in music production, we’re confident in our ability to create a mix that brings out the best in your music.
To ensure that you’re completely happy with our work, we offer a test music mix for albums and EPs. If you don’t like the test mix, there’s no charge. But if you love it, we’ll continue to mix the rest of the album or EP until you’re completely satisfied.

Please don’t hesitate to ask us for a quote or book a music mixing session.
Sonic Nursery does offer Dolby Atmos mixes. If this is something you’re interested in addition to a stereo mix (or if you’re just looking to upmix to Atmos), please let us know!
FAQs
Music mixing is the process of balancing and enhancing individual tracks in a song, adjusting levels, EQ, panning, and effects to create a polished and cohesive final mix.
Have a look at this page by Berklee Online for a great, more detailed explanation of music mixing.
Mixing focuses on balancing individual tracks (vocals, instruments, drums, etc.), while mastering finalises the entire track (after the mix has been completed) for distribution, ensuring consistent loudness and quality across all playback systems.
If you have not recorded with us, just send us your multitracks (recordings of individual instrument and vocal tracks) in WAV format, along with any reference tracks or creative notes on your desired sound. You are also encouraged to come in to our Cape Town-based studio and discuss the project with us in real time!
Yes absolutely! We provide vocal tuning (including pitch correction and Auto-Tune if needed) and editing to bring out an exquisite polish! This is in addition of course to the usual music mixing practices of using compression, EQ and effects to make your vocals shine in the mix.
Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the song, but most mixes are completed within a few days to a week. Rush options are available, so just reach out if you have a tight due date.
Of course! We include a set number of revisions to ensure your mix sounds exactly how you want it. After five mix revisions, an hourly fee incurs, unless they are quick changes (which remain free of charge).
Yes! We work with a wide range of genres, from Rock ‘n’ Roll, Afrobeats and hip-hop to electronic, jazz, and acoustic music. Our team of engineers has vast experience and knowledge with all kinds of music genres and can deliver excellent mixes no matter the style.
We deliver high-quality WAV and MP3 files, ready for mastering or direct release. Sonic Nursery also offers Dolby Atmos mixes, which are delivered as both binaural and ADM WAV files.
Yes! You can send us your tracks remotely, or book an in-studio session for a more hands-on experience. Either works great for us, but it’s always good if you are able to come in initially just to have a chat about the project. Sonic Nursery does not however offer mix tutorials, but we are big fans of collaboration.
