Pieter Madibuseng Odendaal’s debut album is a fascinating and formidable release. Based on his poetry collection of the same name, Pieter’s spoken-word album explores “themes of identity, climate anxiety and our relationship to the more-than-human-world”.
This was a joy to be involved in. Supported by a number of talented artists as features, ‘Ontaard’ is unique project that required us to assess our approaches in production and mixing. A blend of indigenous instruments such as the uhadi, electronic elements and various voices made this a beautiful challenge. We are very proud of this project, and so grateful to Pieter to trusting us with it.
