Ruan (Sonic Nursery) is an engineer who is able to listen sensitively to notes/feedback, and who clearly supports the artist in finding and shaping their specific sound.  His love for music is evident in his approach to mixing, which doesn't rely solely on his technical training but draws on his strongly developed intuition as an artist.

This was my first time working with a sound engineer of any kind because it’s not often that as an independent theatre maker, you get to engineer your own sound, so when you do, you want it done right! Ruan was such a warm and patient person to work with, it was a pleasure to work with him and I will be working with him again!

Ruan's kindness and patience made me feel so comfortable to work with him. Professional at all times he handled my emotions and creative ideas with the upmost care and respect. At no point did I feel controlled, he consistently checked if I was happy at each stage of making the album. I look forward to a very long working relationship with Sonic Nursery!

I will always return to Sonic Nursery. Working with Ruan is an absolute pleasure and a very fortunate collaboration. It’s rare to find a professional sound/mixing engineer who is empathic, passionate, curious and respectful in nurturing one’s craft. Ruan seems to harness and permeate energy that makes one feel safe and heard, while simultaneously pushing one (and one’s art form) to one’s full potential. He has an ocean of ideas and does the work to implement them while making sure to honour his clients and their vision.

Ruan is a remarkable sound engineer and musician. With an attentive ear and care for the craft, I’ve had the delight of walking away from sessions knowing my project is in the right hands - and ears.

This company is great for getting quality recordings, mixing and mastering for all genre's. He helped my band Moskitos to record our first EP and it sounds amazing!

Currently working on some music with Ruan at Sonic Nursery, could not recommend more. Super talented individual and a wonderful and creative space.
