At Sonic Nursery Sound Studios in Cape Town, we provide editing, noise removal, final mix, mastering, and sound design for film & TV, voiceovers, music, podcasts, and more.
There are many reasons! Post-production is an enormous and necessary step in getting any form of media ready for its audience. For instance, raw recordings often have background noise, inconsistent levels, or unwanted sounds. Post-production refines the audio, making it clear, balanced, and broadcast-ready.
Video files, such as television episodes or films, need to be processed in a certain way alongside the audio to ensure that the final product is ready not just to ship, but to have a wide and consistent impact across a range of audiences, platforms and playback devices.
We can improve most recordings by reducing noise, adjusting levels, and enhancing clarity, but extreme issues (like heavy distortion and clipping) may have limitations. Sonic Nursery does however have a wide range of software and hardware to remedy poor-quality recordings.
Turnaround time depends on the project. Simple edits can be done in a few hours, while complex projects (like multi-track mixes) may take longer. One 45-minute episode can take one to three days to mix, for instance.
Yes! We can add sound effects, background music, and ambient soundscapes to enhance your project’s impact. Cape Town-based Sonic Nursery is home to many instruments, such as guitars, bass guitars, synthesisers, percussion, and an enormous variety of software instruments that can achieve effectively any sound design that is desired.
We provide files in WAV, MP3, or any other preferred format, optimised for your intended use (broadcast, streaming, etc.). If you require broadcast ready video formats, we can provide those as well.
Absolutely! We provide audio syncing and sound design to ensure seamless integration with your video content. All such services are included in our post-production rate.
Yes! We include a set number of revisions to ensure you’re completely satisfied with the final result. After that set number, an hourly fee incurs, but it’s unlikely to reach that point.
